How to port your landline number without losing service

Number porting sounds complicated, but from your side it involves very little. You give us your existing number and current provider at checkout, we handle the paperwork, and your old line keeps ringing as normal until the moment the port completes. There is no gap in service.

Step by step

First, choose a plan and complete checkout. Select port my existing number and enter your current number and provider details. We will email you a Customer Letter of Authority (CLoA) within 24 hours — a short form authorising the transfer. Sign it digitally and send it back. We submit the request to your current provider, who is legally required to release the number. Once confirmed, your number goes live on Virtual Voice and your old line is closed.

The whole process typically takes 5-10 working days for geographic numbers. Non-geographic numbers (0800, 03 etc.) can take slightly longer. Geographic number ports cost £19.99 inc VAT as a one-off; non-geographic are £39.99. There are no ongoing port-related charges.
